SheRose is a non-profit organisation that aims to support and empower girls through education, we work to eradicate the barriers that hinder girls academic progress

SheRose believes in the power of education. we aim to empower girls through education by providing assistance to those coming from poor backgrounds. We aim to fight against poverty and other causes of child marriages. We strive to emancipate girls from gender discrimination and gender restrictions; encouraging them to have dreams and ambitions (beyond marriage), and provide a platform where they can achieve and fulfill these dreams. Our primary aim is to eradicate child marriages. For example, 1 in 2 girls in Malawi are forced into child marriages before their 18th birthday, to men much older than them. They are forced to leave school and take care of their families. This perpetuates education barriers and sexual inequality. Above all else it continues the cycle of poverty. Our aims include:

  • providing financial assistance for education to girls of high academic calibre

  • Offer mentoring schemes for girls

  • Offer career advice and assistance during and after their studies

  • Sexual health awareness for girls

  • Gender equality workshops

  • Dealing with sexual assault for girls/women.
